  • high level of proficiency in English

The Master's program in Software Engineering and Management is dedicated to qualify first-degree graduates for management and leadership activities in international software engineering domains. Future leaders in software engineering have to be able to translate theory into practice, manage technical and organizational aspects of software development, interlink technical competences and managerial skills, communicate successfully in an international environment, employ modern technologies for business etc. Therefore, the Master's program is taking a cross-disciplinary approach.

Making up Masters:

When the technical and the organizational aspects of software development come together, you enter the exciting world of Software Engineering and Management. Software Engineering and Management requires a unique blend of technical competences and managerial skills. Learning how to act in an international environment, to work with different cultures, to facilitate modern technologies for your business is part of your way toward becoming a master. We will enable you to engineer software and manage success - anywhere around the globe.

Whatever career path you choose, technical or managerial, it is your problem solving competence that makes the difference. The world is full of challenges and business opportunities. Take them by the horns! Solve problems and overcome obstacles. Manage change. Think strategically. Be innovative. And success is yours.

Engineer Software ...

It starts with a customer, who has an idea, a wish, a request, and it is you who makes this come true. You are the one who transforms rough ideas into clear and precise requirements. You understand the customer’s application domain. You develop complex systems, you create information models, you know the algorithms required, and you run software projects in a controlled and risk-aware manner. It is your professional attitude that distinguishes you.

... & Manage Success!

Management is about people, organizations, change, and economics. You feel comfortable in collaborating internationally. You know how to manage change and processes. You focus on products and quality and appropriate business models. You use the power of a strategic vision and of sound management and leadership principles. And you use state-of-the-art tools for remote collaboration in virtual teams. A broad spectrum of qualities that make you a better manager.

Our way to your mastership:

You will have lectures, seminars, project work, exercises, case studies, applied learning in cooperation with business partners and so on. We strive to build up your methodological competence, your social competence, your personal competence, and your subject knowledge (see educational concept). We regard these cornerstones as fundamental in order to establish problem solving competence in a complex work environment, whether it is Software Engineering related or Management related.

Three semesters towards your master's degree:

We impart the theoretical fundamentals as well as the various cornerstones of problem solving competence during the first year. Within different modules you are prepared for planning and leading activities in software engineering.
