The Master’s programme in Christian Studies of Science and Society teaches you how to develop your own ideas within your field of research or professional field from out of a Christian perspective.
The Christian Studies of Science and Society is an international Master’s programme and aims to provide students with an opportunity to cooperatively research and develop a Christian perspective on contemporary issues in science and society. The Master’s programme is not a theology Master’s but is part of the Faculty of Philosophy. The emphasis is on the meaning of the Christian faith in an interdisciplinary and international (and therefore intercultural) context. The programme consists of three phases: you start with basic reflections on Philosophical Foundations. Then you choose one of two specializations in Philosophical Anthropology or in Social and Political Theory.
The final phase consists of the preparation for and writing of the Masters Thesis.
The Christian Studies of Science and Society’ programme provides participants with an in-depth knowledge of a Christian normative way of thinking, as basis for an alternative view that is relevant and challenging with respect to key contemporary issues. In this way the program aims to equip the participants for a deeper fulfillment of various functions in higher education or in social and political organizations.
