Master en Droit Européen - LL.M. (académique)

Ce Master est un des trois programmes de Master en Droit focalisés sur le Droit européen offerts par la Faculté.

Chaque Master est un programme qui s’étend sur deux années d’études. Il est possible d’en suivre l’intégralité ou de ne suivre que la deuxième année. La deuxième année de chaque Master est constituée de deux spécialisations. Le diplôme de Master est attribué après avoir passé la deuxième année avec succès.
 
Le Master en Droit européen LL.M.  offre deux programmes séparés en deuxième année: la filière droit européen général  et la filière droit privé européen .
 
En raison de la longue tradition européenne du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg et de la proximité de nombreuses institutions européennes dont notamment la Cour de Justice de l'Union européenne et le Fonds européen d’investissement, le Master en droit européen de notre faculté est fortement orienté sur le droit européen et le droit comparé. La filière droit européen général est une formation orientée vers la recherche, offrant un large aperçu des différents domaines du droit européen. La filière de droit privé européen constitue une prolongation naturelle de la première année de Master en droit européen pour les étudiants souhaitant s’orienter ou conserver une spécialisation en droit privé.
 
Débouchés

Les diplômés auront accès à toute profession juridique, e.g. cabinets d’avocats, notariat, magistrature, conseils juridiques, administrations nationales et européennes, banques et institutions financières. Le diplôme délivré permet également la poursuite d’un parcours académique par une inscription en Doctorat.

Conditions d'admission

Applications for the first year of one of the three Master programmes in law require a bachelor degree in law or an equivalent completed study programme, with at least three years of higher education as required by the Bologna criteria (180 ECTS). The application dossier includes a motivation letter, a CV, copies of previous study results and diploma(s), certification of language proficiency (English and French) either evident from previous studies or by a language test result, as well as a recommendation letter or two persons of reference.
 
Once admitted to one of the three Master programmes and after successful completion of the first year (equivalent to 60 ECTS) you can advance to one of the two specialisations offered by each Master programme. These specialisations require a minimum level of grades in your first-year courses that are relevant to your chosen specialisation. Students will be offered the possibility to change into another Master in law programme after a successful completion of their first year and demonstrating a strong case for shifting specialisation. Admission to the second year of any of the three Master programmes in Law is granted by an assessment of the selection committee.
 
Students have also the option to apply directly to the second year, at any of the specialisations offered by each one of the three Master programmes in law. Applicants are required to have completed successfully four years of law studies (equivalent to 240 ECTS) and demonstrate a solid knowledge of European law in addition to the specific requirements set by the different programmes.
