Why do people say what they say? Social psychologists discovered that the way we feel determines our language. The Master's in Social Psychology studies fundamental social psychological processes.

The Master's in Social Psychology takes a multidisciplinary approach to fundamental social psychological processes. In this Master's programme you learn the essential skills needed to conduct innovative research of the highest quality. It also provides an excellent opportunity for in-depth exploration of the central theories in Social Psychology and its related disciplines.

This is a two-year programme, taught entirely in English. Consisting primarily of small-scale teaching in seminars, tutorials and workshops, it involves the following activities: studying basic principles of social psychology, acquiring advanced research skills, exploring interdisciplinary perspectives, conducting your own empirical research, writing a Master's thesis.
You write your Master's thesis in the form of reports on two research projects. The internationally recognized title Master of Science (MSc) in Social Psychology is awarded to those who complete the programme successfully. Many social psychologists conduct research and teach at universities or colleges.

Objectives

The teaching program aims at providing specialization in social psychology and creating bridges between social psychology and neighbouring disciplines.

Curriculum

During the whole teaching program there will be a strong emphasis on both research skills and presentation skills.

Instruction modes

Students are taught in small groups by scientists who have made unique contributions to the areas of research featured in the programme. All enjoy international recognition as prominent researchers in diverse fields of social psychology and associated disciplines. All of our teaching staff receive consistently excellent educational evaluations.

Socio-economic contribution

The programme provides theoretical specialization in social psychology as well as the application of research and professional skills. Students who have completed this program are well suited for positions as consultants, researchers, managers, political strategists, technology designers, and the like. In these positions they can have a direct contribution to the socio-economic development in the NFP countries.

Sustainable strengthening

Many of the graduates of this program work in government and non-profit organizations, designing and evaluating policies and programmes in education, conflict resolution, environmental protection, and other fields of application. Thus, participation in the program enables graduates to clearly contribute to the institutional development of the fellowship holders’ organization.
